The Aurora Art Guild was established in 1985 by Pat Smith, Yvonne Kydd, Madeline Wall, Beth Gaffney, Verna Betker, Joyce Sotski, and Marci Wheatley. It was conceived as a learning guild, aimed at bringing together like-minded visual artists from Regina and area. Up to a maximum of 30 members from beginners to experts, and from self-taught to formally trained, continue to enjoy the benefits and comraderie of the Aurora Art Guild.
Members are encouraged to participate in once monthly Paint & Share Nights, once monthly Weekend Retreats, semi-annual Show & Sales, and other co-operative events (eg. Pop-Up Shows with other local art guilds; community Show & Sales at the Art Gallery of Regina; display of artwork at the Broadway Terrace Seniors Residence and also the Allen Blair Cancer Clinic).
Once or twice a year, the membership committee reviews applications and arranges interviews (3-5 samples of work required).
